Currently unable to come online

Postby Nathanstorm » Sun Mar 16, 2014 2:15 pm

Hello guild,
Since last week I am unable to login on both computer and mabinogi. Somehow when I enter my computer password It says that It failed to load? My mom asked a technican to come and help, I don't know how long this will take but I hope that I can come online ASAP. I'm sorry for the absence.

Common problems that cause this to happen (sorry, not trying to make you look dumb, but we often don't see the obvious):
  • Caps Lock
  • Wireless keyboard with low battery charge
  • USB connected keyboard (USB drivers failed to load correctly or are broken)
  • Repeated typo in password (i.e 1243 instead of 1234)
  • Damaged windows user DB

For the last entry of that list I usually have a second user registered. If windows logon with that second user fails too, it is most likely that one. A technician should be able to restore the DB with any live OS on CD/DVD or flash drive.
I any case I would recommend a full virus scan with the computer booted from another boot media, because a damaged user DB hints at a manipulation attempt. Windows normally keeps a backup of the user DB to automatically restore it and a failing logon means that both copies are corrupted which cannot happen from normal windows use.
Only intentional manipulation or a damaged HDD can damage both copies.

Mabi can run very well on old rigs, since it's only poorly optimized to newer ones (cue everyone's problem, and their confusion when they mention they have super ultra new comps, it infact make things worse).

Give it a whirl, I hope you can make it

Does your comp has a decompressing program of any sort ? (not sure that's necessary for Mabi install)

Also, try and run the install from Desktop (generally it's a place out of admin privilege)

I'm not sure what you mean with a decompressing program and about the desktop install, I dragged the mabinogisetupv181 to the desktop and installed it if that's what you mean and they still asked for administrator privilage and I still have the same error D:
